About

Genetic Nuts ? Well it was hard finding a name that would describe me and this blog. And Genetic Nuts pretty much sums it all up.

We did the DNA, the genetics are there, and now we just have to connect all the nuts in the tree. Genealogy is fun, educational, social, and enlightening. I have so many stories to tell and so many brick walls (lost lines, missing ancestors) that this will be a never ending challenge, but a fun one.

About 30 years ago my mother started looking for her Native American connection. He father always said that his mother was from the Pemigewasset Indian tribe. Before Colonials settled central New Hampshire, the Pemigewasset Indians lived in a village in what is now Franklin. It is also said that the migrated to areas of Maine.

Here is some good reading on the Maine and New Hampshire Tribes
